How do I apply to become a teaching assistant?
At the end of June, an email is sent to all undergraduate and graduate students with instructions on how to apply using the School's online system. You must refer to the instructions in the email to apply for the upcoming academic year.
Undergraduates who have done well in CISC courses are strongly encouraged to apply. You must have a Canadian bank account to be hired as a TA.
When are TAs hired?
Undergraduate TAs are hired in the first couple of weeks of September. We cannot hire earlier than this because incoming graduate students normally have priority for TA jobs, and we do not know how many such students there will be or their qualifications until they actually arrive on campus.
How do I become a proctor?
Our proctors are graduate and upper-year undergraduate students who were eligible for teaching assistantships, but did not receive a TA appointment this term. Having applied for a TA-ship will automatically put you on our contact list. We do not hire outside of this pool.
