When & Where?
Join us on September 1st, 2nd, 7th, and 8th for a series of activities that will connect you with fellow students, introduce you to the campus, and get you acquainted with everything the computing program has to offer.
Who’s Invited?
This event is open to all incoming first-year and upper-year transfer students new to Queen's and the School of Computing. Not a computing student? No problem! You’re still welcome to join, though some sessions are specifically designed for those in the computing program.
Why You Should Attend
Computing Orientation is more than just an introduction—it’s your first step into a vibrant community. Run by computing students for computing students, this event is packed with opportunities to meet new friends, learn about your program, and dive into the Queen’s spirit. Whether you’re attending academic sessions or joining in on fun social events, you’ll leave feeling prepared and excited for the year ahead.
What to Expect
You’ll experience a mix of academic workshops, campus tours, club fairs, and social gatherings. Our goal is to help you feel at home in the School of Computing while connecting you with peers, faculty, and staff who will support you throughout your journey.
What to Bring
- Orientation T-Shirt: Wear it throughout the event! (distributed on day one)
- Comfortable Clothing & Shoes: Be ready for outdoor activities and lots of movement.
- Spare Clothes: Some activities might get messy, so bring clothes you won’t mind getting dirty.
